The New Way to Exfoliate your Face

The procedure involves the use of a 10-inch scalpel, which curves into a sharp point. The blade is used on clean, dry skin on the forehead, cheeks, chin, nose and neck. You can expect to see an instant improvement in skin texture and tone, while the long-term effects are increased cell turnover, fewer wrinkles and dark spots, reduction of acne scarring, and the removal of fine facial hair, all while rejuvenating skin cells that look and feel smoother to the touch!

Removing the peach fuzz is beneficial since the fine hairs trap debris and oils and give skin a dull look. After dermaplaning, skin care products and treatments perform much more efficiently since they can penetrate the skin more easily. Your makeup goes on smoother as well, It's the perfect procedure to begin stacking other treatments, like our  Multi Acid Face Peel, Serums, Aquafacial.

What is the technique?

The technique is safely administered using a specialized surgical instrument and disposable blades designed specifically for dermaplaning. Once the skin is properly prepped, the esthetician holds the skin taut, and gently scrapes the skin with the blade at a 45 degree angle. This removes both vellus hair and the top layer ofr dead skin cells revealing gorgeous, fresh new skin.

Who can benefit from Dermaplaning?

Men and women of all ages, Skin types and tones can benefit from this service.Dermaplaning is recommended for those with dry skin, rough patches, acne scarring, uneven skin tone, large pore size, fine lines and unwanted facial hair. It provides a smooth texture, clear complexion and overall skin rejevenation, boosting the production of collagen and elastin. Those with vellus hair will notice their skin softer, smoother and makeup application is a breeze. Darker skin tones will love this treatement as the skin has more layers, and with aging the skin tends to sag rather than wrinkle. Dermaplaning can help remove extra layers of skin, help with pigmentation concerns and revela more youthful glowing skin. Those over the age of 35 will feel this service is a vital addition the their skin care regimen, and of course women who are expecting! Dermaplaning is one of the few facials an expectant mom can safely have for an all natural glow.

Once the vellus hair is removed, will it grow back darker or thicker?

No, this is physiologically impossible. The soft, fine vellus hair will grow back slowly- usually at around four weeks. (There are two types of hair that grow on our bodies- vellus and terminal. Vellus hair is thin, fine soft hair that typically covers the whole body. Terminal hair is the coarser hair that grows on the head, the face on men, underarms, pubic areas, and legs.)
